Zinus Wins Judgment Protecting Critical Innovation

To our valued partners and customers:

Today we announced a very important and positive development in our mission to innovate and “create harmony.” That’s what we’ve always said we’re in the business of doing, and why we fit fluffy beds into boxes, and make bed frames and sofas that are as easy to assemble as they are to relax or fall asleep on.

After more than three-and-a-half years of litigation, we are pleased to announce that Zinus has won a $1.1 million judgment against Cap Export, LLC, and other parties, who attempted to use and profit from what we created. Specifically, we successfully enforced our patent for breakthrough technology - a bed frame which can be assembled from components that all fit within a compartment fashioned from the bed’s headboard. All pieces can ship in a single box, which is unique in design and consumer convenience. In short, this is a tremendous innovation we are very proud of, which is why we went to such lengths to protect it.

We felt it important that our customers, including our retail and e-commerce partners, be made aware of this news and our unwavering commitment to putting customers first.

Our innovative designs and breadth of unique products are the foundation of our success in the market and have inspired close to 500,000 positive reviews from satisfied customers who have come to know and love our brand. We respect the importance of competition in advancing any market, but that competition also needs to be lawful. We could not and will not allow such deliberate copying of our innovations, which could mislead those who depend on the exceptional quality of Zinus product offerings. Enforcing our innovations also inspires long-term customer confidence and gives them a sense of comfort knowing that the physical and virtual shelf space they give to our products is not at risk. Knowing that our unique products will be protected, our team can continue to work hard and focus on creating pioneering products that enhance the distinct experience customers know and expect from Zinus.

All of our products are designed and manufactured to put the consumer first. That means superior quality supported by more than 60 patents and 200 trademarks, expert packaging and assembly so simple that putting a bunk bed together takes one person less than an hour.

We are very proud of the new advancements Zinus brings to consumers – and Zinus’ more than 50 person design and R&D team is a testament to our commitment. Innovating in the established mattress and furniture space is extremely challenging. Our innovations are the result of many years and many millions of dollars invested in cultivating a unique experience that puts the consumer at the forefront.

We are proud of our innovations and will continue to make bed-in-a-box mattresses and easy to assemble furniture that creates harmony in the home at fair prices and value to consumers. We will also continue to stand up for what is right and will fiercely enforce our more than 260 patents and trademarks and protect our innovations against those who attempt to copy us.

Thank you for supporting Zinus’ mission.
